Welcome back, Buffs! To all the regulars, we missed you this summer! If you’re a visitor, please know that we’re thrilled you’re here and that we hope you make University your home away from home.
Good news!! Today is Buff Branding Sunday (in other words: FREE FOOD!) Please stick around after class for more information about the Buffs for Christ ministry and for some delicious barbeque from Cattle Call. And that’s not all! Tonight, at 7:00 p.m. all college students are invited to Bob and Linda Shepard’s (3311 Linda Lane) for chili dogs and games.

Roger and Freida Gist would like to announce the arrival of a grandson! Sawyer Samuel Gist was born on Wednesday, August 20 to Roger B. and Amy Gist of Hereford. Sawyer weighed 8 lbs., 9 1/2 oz., and was welcomed home by big brother RB and big sister Abby.
The college students are looking for people who will help with meals for 2008-09. We have “Stuff the Buffs” on the first Wednesday of each month, and as a rule we have 3-4 families help with each meal. We have even had a Small Group and a Sunday school class prepare a meal for us. We also are always looking for families who will open up their home, prepare a meal, and host Small Groups once a month.
We are so blessed to have a congregation who serves our college students so well. If you are willing to help or would like more information, talk to Kent or Becky or call the Bible Chair at 655-2174 or e-mail buffs4christ@suddenlinkmail.com.
We cannot say thanks for all you do for us!
The time for Monday high school lunches is fast approaching. September 8 will be our first Monday Meal. We won’t be putting out a sign-up sheet this year, so if you’re interested in helping by donating time, food or money, you can contact Sabrina Willingham at 640-2930. Any and all help is welcome. Also, this year we’re looking for new food ideas. If you have a quick and easy recipe that could feed a lot of hungry high schoolers, please e-mail it to Sabrina at sabrina_willingham@yahoo.com. High schoolers, please remember to bring your friends!
Even though school starts on August 25, there will be no Monday Meals until after Labor Day.
Congratulations to Campbell Holt for being a winner in the Canyon Library Bookmark contest. Way to go, Campbell!
Starting on Wednesday, September 3, our evening service will start at 7:00 p.m.

James Barrington took wonderful shots of VBS. Some of these photographs are on the bulletin board in the foyer. Help yourself to snapshots of you, your kids, your teacher–just take them off the board!
Mark your calendar for a 5th Sunday Potluck Lunch on Sunday, August 31 in the Family Activity Center following Bible classes.
